I will agree that the quest was a little long but is that really so bad. Remember back in the days of prophecies when missions would take 1 hour or more, Urgoz, UW, DOA before speed clears.
We have become so accustomed to just rolling through everything in 10-20 minutes that when presented with a mission that requires more time we aren't used to it.
So many people have been asking for more content well here it is. Not really a Sorrows Furnace Level content improvement but at least something new. Got me to get back on for a few hours.

I wasted 1 1/2 hours on it in Hard mode. My major problem was relying on Hench monk as primary healer. It would be nice to have a prot hench too ...but no biggie. I will have to change my setup. No problems till the start of the 10 groups you have to kill. I had Party death and gave them a Massive minion army. This allowed them to meat shielding and plugging up the area. eek. Gave up because I only had an 1 1/2 to play so I had to quit. I did try all sorts of paths here and there are numerous kills to make. Got a lot of orders to drop 7 which I guess isn’t too bad for a full party. Normal mode will be a piece of cake so I will probably turn off the had mode. I don't waste my time again. Solo mesmer and hench hero. Please give the monk Hench some skills or some intelligence

The quest was easy enough on NM. Wiped at the entrance to Sheamoor, so the Asuran beacon was kinda handy.
The only annoying thing were the WM spawns on your way back fram Loamhorst. A WM pop every 5 steps isn't exactly engrossing gameplay. Only irritating.

The problem isn't the lenght, but the reward. It takes about an hour for 5 gifts, a moh and 2k; in the same time i can do all the daily wanted quests on 6 toons, which will give me more supplies and more gold.

I can verify what majoho said:
You only need to do the first half of the mission if you want to use the Asuran beacons. If you're comfortable clearing the village without the beacons, you can go straight there and do so. Just as with the long way, once you defeat all the groups in the village, the final gate lever becomes operational.

Easy fix. Just wipe and ress at the beginning, it saved my team about 15 minutes of annoyance.

I see lots of people bashing Alesia but not hearing much about the White Mantle Priests who are easly twice as dumb as her. {I guess when the AI is stupid in your favor that's ok}
I wish I had access to the Peacekeepersguru to see them bitching at the LEEEEEEROY healers on their team I've only noticed hex eater sig and healing touch making them suicide but they still have 4-6-8 "stupid AI" players on their team.
I don't see why you take the henchies if you hate em so much, if your doing NM for these quests you can faceroll them with yourself and 3 heroes, since the reward is the same for NM or HM you would only be doing HM for a challenge right?
Well whats more challenging then trying to keep Alesia alive?

Same reward for NM or HM, you can just look at quest log to see rewards, if it doesn't say Bonus for HM then the only reason to do HM is because you forget to click that NM button again like I did for both quests.
Did anyone else notice more mobs in the mission than in the previous bounty for that place? groups seemed bigger to me but I don't always pay too much attention...

Except in Hard mode they turn into a mini Willa the Unpleasant.
Spamming little machines they are.

In the village, the groups can all be gathered to nice chokepoints. Skills like Panic shine here. Turn that spamming against them!

I agree. The excessive "ambushes" on the way back were just tedious and not engaging at all. Just drew a long story out even longer. Mission was ok otherwise.

Good grief, I'm sorry but even with the ambushes and then skipping the first half later on with other chars, this is not a terrible quest. The complainers need to accept they are not 'the pwn' if it continuely goes wrong for them and adapt, changing their builds.. me? I used my defy pain warrior, olias mm, dunky healers boon, xundra sos with splinter, ancestors. Healer, mesmer, necro and ele henchies. Get on with it! The beacons are not even needed!

Ally whisped me the same, after I complained how tedious it was to get all the way back to Livia.
But only until after I fought my way back, of course.

I agree the mission was dragged out, did it with heroes and hench in about an hour, would have been a lot less without the annoying spawns on the way back from picking up the key.

SAme here , I was doing both WiK missions at the same time , didn't have a problem at all in Hard mode with another player, no henchs.
Alesia sucks since gw day 1, best option I guess is to PUG or at least 2 players + heroes.

Took me 1-1.5 hours to do this with h+h on NM...I suspect that it's easier on HM with full level henchies and their elites. Once I got past the gate guards I had no issues...those gate guard groups were a pita.
And I too fought every single mantle group that popped on the way back...now that it was mentioned, I should have just died and ressed back at Zinn's place...just didn't think about it.
Also it was a pita when I went to turn it in only to find out I missed the Wanted quest for the other boss in that mission. I'll be doing that tonight...

Just made it in NM for 20 min, no need to get key, just go kill the 10 groups open the gate and get reward.

I liked that it was longer. Boo on all the people looking for massive short cuts, just play the damn game for once.

Welp, there you have it.
Off-topic, and I rarely ever complain about GW, but it's kind of lame they didn't fix the SBB.

I'm baffled by Zinn's weapon thing. Is it bugged or intended to do nothing?
Some golems spawn then die instantly; I'm not sure if they did any damage. If they did it was too insignificant to merit the inconvenience of carrying the beacon.
